The Digital Dilemma:

Are you in control of your child's screen time, or is it controlling them?

20 MAR, THU, 12 - 1 PM SGT

How can you create a screen time routine that works for your child's growth?

The Digital Dilemma

In today's digital world, managing screen time is one of the biggest challenges parents face. With technology becoming a larger part of children's lives, it's essential to find a balance that supports both their learning and overall well-being.

Screen time doesn’t have to be detrimental–it can enhance your child’s development when managed effectively. But how do we strike the right balance between educational content and meaningful, offline interactions?

With the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) updating their screen use guidelines in January 2025, parents now have clearer recommendations for managing digital exposure for young children:

  • Below 18 months: No screen use, except for interactive video chats. Avoid background screens.
  • 18 months to 6 years: Limit screen use to less than an hour a day outside school. Passive screen use is not recommended, and screens should not be used to occupy or distract children.

Join us for an engaging discussion moderated by Charmaine Yee, EtonHouse Claymore parent, as we explore how to navigate screen time in a way that benefits your child.

Our expert panel–Amanda Lee, Vice Principal and Curriculum Coordinator at EtonHouse Pre-School Upper Bukit Timah; Srishti Pingali, Primary Curriculum Coordinator at Middleton International School; and Elmilia Binte Abu Bakar, Centre Leader at E-Bridge Pre-School–will guide you through:

  • Setting healthy boundaries: Understanding how much screen time is appropriate for young children.
  • The hidden impacts: Exploring the physical, emotional, and cognitive effects of excessive screen exposure.
  • Using screens as tools: How to use digital resources to enhance learning and creativity while maintaining a balanced lifestyle.

With expert insights, practical strategies, and real-life examples, our speakers will help you manage screen time in a way that supports your child's growth, both on and off the screen.

Take the first step toward a balanced digital life for your child!
